Surgeries will continue in hospitals - Health Minister

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said there was no problem in carrying out surgeries in government hospitals as usual and that such activities will continue while managing the available resources.

He said that the problems that arose at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital regarding surgeries has been resolved already. The Minister made these comments to the media subsequent to a function held at the Peradeniya Dental Faculty yesterday (30). He emphasized the fact that there is a problem regarding foreign exchange in the country and as a result certain issues arise when importing pharmaceuticals and he also said that priorities are identified when engaging in expenditure.
