Western Province exams will be held as planned

The Ministry of Education has decided to conduct the final term examinations for students in Grades 9, 10 and 11 of government schools in the Western Province as planned from March 29.
 
In addition to this, the term tests for Grades 06, 07 and 08  will be conducted as per usual from today (21) onwards.
 
On Friday, Provincial Director of Education Srilal Nonis confirmed that the examination could not be held on the due date, due a shortage of paper.

The third term examination in schools in the Western Province (WP) will be held according to the scheduled time table, Western Provincial Education Director Sri Lal Nonis said.

“Accordingly, the term tests for Grades 9,10 and 11 are scheduled to be held on March 29,” he said.

“The Third Term tests for Grades 9, 10 and 11 were postponed due to a shortage of paper and arrangements have been made to hold the examination as scheduled as it was possible to resolve the issue,” the Provincial Director of Education said.

He added that the question papers for Grades 9, 10 and 11 have already been handed over to the Zonal Education Offices for preparation and printing at the provincial level.

“ As the term tests for Grades 9, 10 and 11 will be held on March 29, there is still time to print the question papers,” he said.

“The term tests for Grades 6,7 and 8 for schools in the Western Province commenced today (21),” the Provincial Director of Education said.
