Illegal power line kills two children

Two 13 year old children died on Saturday when they came into contact with a live electrical line illegally connected to obtain power to a coconut cultivation in Naikadu, Samanthurai. According to police, the deceased children were residents of Naikadu.

According to investigations, the accident occurred when the two boys went to chop fire wood and were entangled in an unauthorized power line in a neighboring coconut plantation.

Police arrested three male persons aged 30, 31 and 72 in connection with the incident.
