A meeting was held between representatives of foreign embassy offices in Sri Lanka and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on Tuesday evening at Temple Trees. Secretary to the Prime Minister Anura Dissanayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Admiral (Retired) Prof. Jayanath Colombage, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Yoshitha Rajapaksa and a number of representatives of foreign embassies in Sri Lanka participated on this occasion.

Highways Minister Johnston Fernando has instructed Road Development Authority officials to complete upgrading the access road to the Ratmalana Airport in 20 days. The Ratmalana Airport is currently operated as a domestic airport and used by both local and foreign tourists and the Air Force. The stretch of road to be upgraded is 1.6 km in length. The road would be upgraded at a cost of Rs. 99.3 million. Rs 20.4 million would be spent for the development of walking paths besides the road and Rs. 24.8 million to set up street lights.
