Rishad allowed travel, Hisbullah re-remanded

Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage yesterday lifted the travel ban imposed on MP Rishad Bathiudeen to participate in the Expo Middle East Exhibition.

The Magistrate made this order pursuant to a request made by the defence counsel.

Bathiudeen was arrested and remanded in connection with Easter Sunday Terrorism attack in 2019. He is currently out of bail.

The Magistrate lifted the travel ban imposed on him following a special bond of Rs.2 million.

Attorney-at-law Hejaaz Hisbullah and six others, who were arrested in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, was further remanded till February 9.
