Martial arts to the rescue

A five-day residential Wushu Refresher Course for national and schools Wushu coaches was organized by the Wushu Federation of Sri Lanka. It was held at the National Institute of Polgolla Co-operative Development Centre Auditorium in November last year. Sixty-two Wushu coaches from across the island attended the event.Among the coaches who attended were three lady coaches and one Buddhist monk. Course Certificates were presented to the participants at the end of the event.

This course was initiated by President of the Wushu Federation of Sri Lanka, Manel Dharmakeerthi who is also a Technical Committee Member of South Asian Wushu Federation and a Sales and Development Committee Member, International ‘A’ Grade Referee and aWushu judge.The Chief Guest was Athula Jayawardena, Director of Sports (Central Province). Harinda Jayatissa, Treasurer of the Federation, Senaka Samaratunge, District President of Wushu Federation, Kithsiri Subasinghe, Vice President, Ajantha Bandara, Assistant Secretary, Nishantha Pathiraja, (Vice President) and Mahendra Ekanayake, Vice President, were present. Buddhi Dunstan and Jeewan

Maduranga, were the demonstrators.
