Requests to reopen livestock farm at Julpallama

The livestock farm that belongs to the National Livestock Development Board at Julpallama on the Tissa–Kataragama road remains closed for several years.

There were about a hundred employees and the farm produced eggs, poultry, curd and pork.

There was a sales outlet by the roadside and its products were popular among residents, local tourists and the passersby to and from Kataragama because of the high quality of products and the cheaper price.

As a result of the closure of this farm, many people lost their jobs and the residents and other customers faced inconveniences in buying quality food at a reasonable price. They urge the Government to start this farm again.
