A rural Hydro Power Station in Bulathsinhala in the Kalutara District has not been used for the last 10 years and is in a dilapidated condition along with valuable machinery. State Minister Jayantha Samaraweera visited the location recently and instructed officials there to repair it to supply power to the houses in the area.
This rural Hydro Power Station is said to have been installed in 2007, but it had not been operated thereafter. Therefore, residents of the area who provided financial assistance to install it were unable to get electricity to their houses.
