CDA Chairman meets Saudi Arabia Envoy

Coconut Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Keerthi Sri Weerasinghe met Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Abdulnaser H. O. Al Harthi at the Saudi Arabia Embassy on October 5 at the invitation of the Ambassador.

They discussed the trade between the two countries and ways to develop the same.

Of the total coconut products exported in 2019, US $ 5.0 million came from Saudi Arabia alone, their discussion revealed.

The Chairman’s explained to the Ambassador the production of fresh coconut oil in Sri Lanka and its health benefits.

He asked the Ambassador to invest in coconut related products in the Export Trade Zone to be set up in Hambantota in the next six months. The Ambassador commended the Chairman for his visit to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
