Tourist arrivals Increases in September

The total number of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka during September 2021 increased to 13,547 signaling a notable improvement in arrivals.

The largest source markets recorded for the month of September were India, Pakistan and Germany, followed by the United Kingdom and Russia.

The main reasons attributed for this were increase in vaccination programmes around the world, softer restrictions for vaccinated travellers, and growing consumer confidence.
