Police after ATM intruder

The Police is looking for a person who broke into an ATM machine of a State bank in Minihirigama, Minneriya and stole cash in it, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.

The Police Spokesman said that the amount of cash stolen was yet to be ascertained. The Hingurakgoda People’s Bank Manager had lodged a complaint that the suspect had broken into the ATM by the Polonnaruwa-Habarana Road.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect had arrived by a small lorry and removed parts of the ATM using various tools, the Police Spokesman said.
