Lankans allowed to go home after PCR tests at BIA

PCR tests will be done at the lowest prices at the Katunayake Airport for Sri Lankans arriving in the country from abroad, Aviation and Export Zones State Minister D.V. Chanaka said.

The government has decided to allow Sri Lankans coming to Sri Lanka from abroad to return home after undergoing PCR tests at the Katunayake Airport.

Accordingly, PCR tests will be conducted at the laboratory at the Katunayake Airport at the lowest possible prices approved by the government, and following the results they can return back to their homes, he said.

He said that about 500 PCR tests could be done in this laboratory per hour and the results will be available within three hours. After the inspection, all necessary facilities will be provided at the Katunayake Airport premises for crews to wait until the results are available, he added.
