The husband of the alleged mistress of murdered Amila Prasanga Hettihewa alias Sunshine Sudda of Mirissa, a drug dealer and member of an organised crime gang, was arrested for aiding and conspiring in the killing, the Matara Police Crime Investigation Bureau said on Sunday.
Later, he was handed over to Kotawila Police.
The arrested suspect is a 43-year-old hotelier residing at Henwala, Mirissa.
On September 3, Sunshine Sudda had been shot dead in his vehicle while he was on his way to visit his alleged mistress at Warakapitiya in the Kotavila Police area.
Police located the van in which the assassins had come to commit the crime near Bandaththara dam in the Thihagoda Police area. Later, the Police arrested the owner of the respective van. Kotawila Police are investigating.
