Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay called on Education Minister Dinesh Gunawardane at the Ministry ‘Isurupaya’ on September 10.
The High Commissioner pledged to offer increased study opportunities for Sri Lankan students while promoting friendship between the two countries.
The Indian envoy extended his country’s cooperation in the development of higher, technological and school educations, science and research sector and for the expansion of knowledge in Siddha and Unani Medicines.
He also offered his cooperation to create opportunities for Sri Lankans to gain knowledge on centuries old educational and cultural heritages .
Besides, an agreement was reached at the meeting to take measures to secure study opportunities and scholarships and to explore fresh areas of people -to- people exchanges through Indo-Lanka friendship.
