Public assistance sought to apprehend chief suspect

The Police have sought public assistance to apprehend the chief suspect connected to the detection of over 288 kilogrammes of heroin in the seas off Beruwala on August 31.

Police have already arrested five suspects in connection with this drug haul. The chief suspect has been identified as 41-year-old Kaludura Chaminda Dabrew alias “Bob Marley”, a resident of the Malabe and Battaramulla areas.

The suspect is wanted over the 288.64 kg of heroin which was seized from a fishing trawler during a joint operation conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and the Navy on August 31.
