Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa has been appointed as the new Police Media Spokesman, confirmed the Senior DIG Ajith Rohana.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Attorney Nihal Thalduwa has been appointed as the new Police Spokesman and Director of the Police Media Division by the IGP, according to a circular issued by the Secretary of the Public Security Ministry on August 14.
SSP Thalduwa is a Supreme Court lawyer and has represented the Police force at many international forums.
He had previously served as Director of the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) as well as the head of the Western Province Intelligence Unit.
He had also served as the Superintendent of Police for Jaffna District.
He succeeds Senior DIG Ajith Rohana who has served as the Police Media Spokesman on four previous occasions.
