Police prosecuted 44,000 for violating quarantine rules

Police have so far prosecuted 44,000 people for violating quarantine rules.

Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that another 7000 people are yet to be prosecuted. He said there had been delays in filing cases due to the recent closure of the country.

Police have arrested 189 persons for violating the quarantine rules during the last 24 hours ending at 6.00 am yesterday (22).

Police have so far arrested 51,581 persons for violating the quarantine rules, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said.
