Parties that were defeated are trying to sabotage the government, Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said in Parliament, yesterday. He added that much like Sri Lanka, other countries were also experiencing financial difficulties during the pandemic.
He said that the Opposition has forgotten their past mistakes and, instead of seeking forgiveness from the people, were attempting to sabotage the government. “We condemn the manner in which the Opposition is disrupting Parliamentary proceedings,” he added.
Gunawardena requested the Opposition to read the details presented to Parliament by Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena. He said that through discussions with the Opposition, they could agree on various debates. However, the government would not accept any misbehavior, he added.
