Shakib Al Hasan banned for four matches of DPL

Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for four matches of the ongoing Dhaka Premier League for his unruly behaviour on Friday. He had shown dissent against umpire’s decisions, not once but twice, kicking and uprooting the stumps during the match.

He was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club in the game against Abahani Limited.

The all-rounder also got into a scuffle with the opposition coach Khaled Mahmud who is also the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director. However, Shakib had apologised to the officials, fans and the teams for his conduct and admitted to have ruined the game.

“I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won’t be repeating this again in future. Thanks and love you all,” part of Shakib’s statement on Facebook read.

The video of Shakib Al Hasan’s actions had gone viral within minutes of the incident and many had slammed him for his conduct. The likes of Lisa Sthalekar and Virender Sehwag also reckoned that the veteran cricketer should’ve behaved properly and criticised him. (Cric Tracker)
