Sajith and wife recover from COVID-19

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and his wife Jalani, who were diagnosed with COVID-19, were discharged from the hospital they were receiving treatment yesterday morning (June 11) following their recovery.

Following their discharge from hospital, the Opposition Leader and his wife visited the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple to receive blessings.

According to the Opposition Leaders’ Office, Pirith was chanted by a group of monks with the participation of Ven. Agalakada Sirisumana Thera and Ven. Kirinde Assaji Thera of the Gangaramaya Temple.

Speaking to the media after engaging in religious observances, Premadasa further said that he will continue his earlier stance of not receiving a COVID-19 vaccine until the entire population in Sri Lanka gets vaccinated.

“As a people’s representative in this country, I will not expect to be vaccinated until all the people in this country are fully vaccinated following the health guidelines. I will donate my vaccine to the people of this country”, MP Premadasa added.

He also expressed his gratitude to all medical personnel who took care of him and his wife and the clergy who invoked blessings for his speedy recovery.
