Police on Thursday arrested three suspects with a stock of 3400 Pulse Oximeters which measures the volume of Oxygen in the blood, smuggled into the country in violation of Customs rules.
The suspects were arrested during a raid carried out in the Messenger Street area in Colombo 12 on a tip off received by the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Division in Panadura. Two cars and a van used for transporting oxygen measuring equipment were also seized.

Police investigations have revealed that the equipment which has been sold at a higher price was imported without the permission of the National Drug Regulatory Authority. The suspects are residents of Wellawatte, Modara and Colombo 12
The Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit is conducting further investigations with the assistance of the National Drug Regulatory Authority.
