Medical equipment from California for H’tota Hospitals

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday handed over a stock of medical equipment received by the Hospital Services Council of the Colombo General Hospital from the California Hospital Services Support Foundation (HSSF) to one of the six hospitals in the Hambantota District.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday handed over a stock of medical equipment received by the Hospital Services Council of the Colombo General Hospital from the California Hospital Services Support Foundation (HSSF) to six hospitals in the Hambantota District. The stock of medical equipment received at the request of the Ruhuna Karaliya organization was distributed to Tangalle and Walasmulla Base Hospitals and Ambalantota, Weeraketiya, Katuwana and Sooriyaweva District Hospitals at the Tangalle Purana Kuda Wanawasa Temple.

It is noteworthy that the California Hospital Services Support Foundation has previously donated essential medical equipment and materials to about 150 hospitals islandwide.

Ven. Rajawelle Subhuthi Thera, Director, Hospital Services Board, Colombo General Hospital, Maharagama Siri Vajiragnana Dharmayathanadhipathi Ven. Maharagama Dhammasiri Thera, Chief Sanghanayake of North America, and the Chief Incumbent of the Tangalle Purana Kuda Wanawasa Vihara Ven. Mandaduwe Dheerananda Thera attended the event.

Minister Bandula Gunawardena, Chairman of the Southern Provincial Council Somawansa Kodagoda, Hambantota District Secretary HP Sumanasekera, District Health Services Director Dr. Deepika Patabendige, Tangalle Base Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Dilka Saranasinghe, Ruhuna Karaliya Chairman, Coordinating Secretary Chairman's Counsel Vidura Weerakoon and several others were present.
