42 GN Divisions isolated

Forty two Grama Niladhari Divisions in three districts have been isolated due to the spread of COVID-19, Army Commander General Shavendra de Silva yesterday (14) stated.

The Army Commander said that 42 divisions in the Kurunegala, Batticaloa and Trincomalee districts have been isolated and the isolation would take effect from 4.00 am on Monday (17) as travel restrictions have already been imposed in the country.

The Army Commander also said that steps have been taken to remove the isolation imposed on several Grama Niladhari Divisions in two districts and the removals will be in effect on the same date.

According to the Army Commander, the regions that will be isolated on Monday (17) includes, Wewa Road, Manchona, 150C Grama Niladhari Division, Kirankulam Police Division, Batticaloa District, Weaving Mill Mawatha Area, Velapodi Road Area, Kannaki Amman Kovil Road Coastal Area, 150B Grama Niladhari Division, Lake Mawatha Vithanjaya area, Appuhamy Mawatha coastal area of Batticaloa district.

Grama Niladhari Divisions that would be isolated on Monday (17) also includes, “Kinniya (226D), Periya Kinniya (225B), Kutti Karachi (226E), Authar Town, 22 Divisional Secretariat, Periyathurum (22), Kinniya (226D), Kinniya Police Division in Trincomalee district, Rahumaniya Town (225), Sinna Kinniya (225A), Mancholi (225D), Kattayaru, Kurinchakarni, Munachachenai, Hamangalla, Narangoda North, Narangoda, Giriulla Police Division, in Kurunegala District, Batapothella, Malgamuwa, Dodampotta, Narangamuwa, Wattegedara, Katugampola, Kaudumunna, Hamanagoda.”

Isolation will also be imposed on Grama Niladhari Divisions, “Mummana, Maharagama, Pahala Meddepola, Ihala Meddepola, Konduru Wala, Mahingamuwa, Siyambalawalana Division, Bopitiya. Ihala Labbala, Pahala Labbala, Mattegama and Wellewa.”

The Grama Niladhari Divisions that will be released from isolation include “Subhadu Mawatha, Andakulam, Uppuveli Police Division of Trincomalee District, Bombuwala Southwest (728D) , Bombuwala South Central (728), Bombuwala South East (728E) and Bombuwala North Western (728A) of the Kalutara district.”
