A much awaited time of the year in Sri Lanka is the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. OKI International Kiribathgoda branch celebrated "Erabadu Wasanthaya" with much pomp and fanfare in the presence of their chairperson, Nirmalee Saparamadu, Coordinating Principal Denum Abeysekera, Chief Administrative Officer Deepthi Kamalawarna, Branch Directress Dulari Perera, Principal Kumari Ranasinghe, Headmistress Madushi De Alwis and several celebrities as special guests (Sanjaya Muramudali, Shalika Edirisinghe, Lochana Imashi, Adithya Weliwatta, Nuwami Walimuni).
Ritual dances, lighting of the hearth and the oil lamp commenced followed by avurudu games. School art teacher Sandaruwani did the creative decorations, Dancing teacher Kavinda and Music teacher Maheshini organized the beautiful cultural items for this event. All the teachers from preschool to A Levels and all parents of OKI International School, Kiribathgoda, helped to make this event a success.
