Akkaraipattu Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Dr. Faroosa Nakfer asked the public of the region to be very cautious during Ramadhan and strictly adhere to the instructions given by the Health Department.
Dr. Faroosa said that the third COVID wave is more fatal than the previous. “The infected with it will not cough and have no fever like those who infected in the first round,” he said.
Pulmonologist Dr. Ritesh Kumar said that every one should take extra precautionary measures in combating this virus.
“The new variant is causing great hardships to the public,” he said.
The MOH has instructed Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) to be very vigilant on those who breach the health guidelines.
Companies have been instructed to follow health guidelines strictly, the MOH said.
