Kuliyapitiya Police Division isolated

The next three weeks will be very volatile due to the behaviour of the people during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, Army Commander, General Shavendra Silva said.

The Kuliyapitiya Police Division has been isolated from 12 midnight, Gen.Shavendra Silva announced yesterday.

“There is a risk of the COVID-19 virus spreading in the country once again”, he added.

He urged the people to refrain from going on weekend trips in the coming long weekend and also advised the people to refrain from organising various other ceremonies or events.

He also highlighted that it was mandatory to wear face masks when leaving the house.

The National Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 headed by the Army Commander on Wednesday announced that Thitthawelgala Grama Niladhari area in Ganewatte, Kurunegala has been isolated, following a spike in coronavirus cases in the area.
