The Locomotive Engine Operators’ Union and railway guards’ unions called off the strike a short while ago, pending discussions with the Minister this evening.

All train services from Colombo Fort cancelled (16:15)
All trains starting from Colombo Fort Railway station were cancelled due to a strike action launched by the railway Locomotive Engine Operators & Guards, said the Railway Department.
The strike is based on several demands including the appointment of a General Manager of Railways.
