The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) keeps the Government on the correct track whenever it goes wrong or does not do justice to the people,” SLFP National Organiser and Renewable Energy Sources Development State Minister Duminda Dissanayake said.
He was addressing the Medawachchiya SLFP Electoral Board convened by the former Minister and Medawachchiya SLFP Organiser Tissa Karalliyadda recently.
Duminda Dissanayake said that the SLFP received 1.7 million votes at the past Pradeshiya Sabha Electrons and those were diverted in favour of Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Elections.
“Had the SLFPers not supported Gotabaya Rajapaksa, he would not win the Elections. We supported him expecting that he would definitely save the country from the imminent disaster. By holding portfolios in the Government, we are not crossing over to the SLPP, he said.
“Our objective is to gain the victory for the SLFP to form a government. We defeated LTTE terrorism and ended the war under a SLFP government. The SLFP gave vision, strength courage and wisdom to Mahinda Rajapaksa to eradicate terrorism,” he said.
“We are proud that the Government is adhering to economic policies of late Prime Minister Srimavo Bandaranaike,” he said.
Anuradhapuura SLFP Organiser Tissa Karalliyadda, Nalin Dissanayake, Premasiri Hettiarachchi, D.P. Bandulasena and Anuradhapura SLFP District Organiser M.R.B. Gnanatilake were present.
