Easter Sunday terror attacks:

PCoI did not hold Ranil or then Cabinet responsible - UNP

The United National Party (UNP) yesterday said that the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) that investigated the Easter Sunday attacks has not held former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe or then Cabinet Ministers responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks.

The Party said the Presidential Commission Report has highlighted that former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had not been apprised or informed of any possible attacks on Easter Sunday 2019.

The UNP Ministers cannot be held responsible for the attacks on the ground that the State Defence Minister had not been assigned the responsibilities of the Defence Minister at the time of the attacks.
