The Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday granted bail to attorney-at-law Ajith Prasanna. He was released on two sureties of Rs.500,000 each.
Prasanna was remanded for almost a year on the charge of making statements at the media briefing to influence witnesses from the prosecution.The case was related to the abduction and disappearance of 11 youth from Colombo in 2009.
Prasanna was granted bail by the Court of Appeal on Wednesday (13) and the bail order was enforced yesterday by the Additional Magistrate.The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for March 19.
