Sri Lanka’s Largest wind power plant declared open

Sri Lanka’s largest wind power plant at Mannar declared open by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. It is the first Ceylon Electricity Board owned wind power plant.
 
The project has been completed at a cost of US $ 150 Million. 
 
The power plant in Mannar will use the world’s latest technology to add 100 megawatts of electricity to the national grid.
 
The Power and Energy Ministry plans to transform the renewable energy sector through this power plant,which will mark a significant milestone in electricity generation.
