EP Governor visits several villages vulnerable to Hurricane Burevi

Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath visited several villages along the northern coast of Trincomalee yesterday morning to look into relocating people in areas vulnerable to Hurricane Burevi.

Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath visited several villages along the northern coast of Trincomalee yesterday morning to look into relocating people in areas vulnerable to Hurricane Burevi.

Accordingly, the Governor made this observation in the villages of North Coast Road, Sirimapura and Thirukkadalur in Trincomalee. The purpose of his tour was to assist people living in those areas from the possible disasters caused by the cyclone and to direct them to safer shelters.

The Governor also said that the necessary financial allocations have been made to provide relief to the people in the event of any disaster due to the cyclone. The Governor instructed the relevant Divisional Secretaries through the District Secretaries to regularly inspect the facilities required by the people living in the coastal area.

Chairman of the Eastern Provincial Housing Authority J. Jenatharan was also present on the occasion.
