Dehiwala Police took into custody a stock of equipment including five drone cameras worth over Rs. 2 million from a suspect’s house in Kaduwela on Saturday.

This is following the interrogation of the owner of the drone camera with which several persons planned to celebrate the death of underworld figure Devmuni Rohana de Silva alias ‘Ratmanale Roha’ organised by another rival gangster Sinhara Amal Silva alias ‘Kudu Anju’s sister.

The underworld figure Devmuni Rohana de Silva alias ‘Ratmanale Roha’ was shot dead in a shootout with police in the Kochchikade area in Negombo.

The suspect was arrested on September 25 over renting a drone that was used for transporting goods to Kudu Anju’s sister to celebrate the death of ‘Ratmalane Roha’ by spraying flowers from the air on the tombstone of Kudu Anju’s brother Suresh Asaka alias ‘Lansia’ who was killed by ‘Roha’ at Ratmalane in 2016, at the ‘Nisala Arana’ cemetery in Mt. Lavinia.

The suspect a 38 year old resident of Kaduwela and has been renting out drones without a licence. A large haul of equipment was seized along with two large drones used for transporting goods and three drone cameras, police said.
