The Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) organised a ceremony to felicitate the under 15 inter Provincial cricket tournament champions Colombo North cricket team at WPCA office at R. Premadasa Stadium recently .
Thilak Wattuhewa the President of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association (SLSCA) said this type of felicitation ceremony always helped to encourage these young cricketers to build up their talents .We must thank SLC for organising this type of ceremony for the young cricketers who are the future of this sport. Actually the support from the district Association always is very important for the schools to develop cricket and SLSCA also have to play a major role to develop school cricket .SLC always provided most of the infrastructure facilities for the schools added SLSCA President .
The 16 players from eight Colombo schools were felicitated on this occasion while SLC made arrangements to give cricket gear worth nearly one lakh of rupees for the each player of the champion under 15 provincial side led by Shevon Daniel of St Joseph’s. Nalanda College Colombo, St Joseph’s Colombo, Carey College , Zahira, St Johns Nugegoda, Padukka Sri Piyaratana MV , St Benedicts Kotahena, and De La Salle Mutwal, Colleges received cricket gear from the SLC.
