ACPHIA deploys 2,870 PHIs for election

The All Ceylon Public Health Inspectors’ Association (ACPHIA) has deployed 2,870 Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) covering over 14,000 polling stations for the General Election.

Food will be provided for the counting officers on the special instructions from the Medical Health Officers (MHOs) and PHIs.

Polling stations are monitored for social distance, hand washing, disinfection, and face masks.

Recently recruited health officers have also been deployed for polling stations. At least three health checks will be conducted at each polling station, the association said.

Polling stations have been disinfected and the maximum care has been taken to protect the voters and the staff from COVID 19 during the election, the Association added.
