SIS Director says he was inconvenienced

Former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Senior Deputy Inspector-General of Police Nilantha Jayawardena yesterday told the Presidential Commission to look into the Easter Sunday Attacks that he was inconvenienced at work because a coalition of two parties ruled the country.

He said that this situation added extra pressure to his work. He said that the policies of the two parties contradicted frequently.

The former SIS Director said that he did not change his intelligence reports to the whims and fancies of politicians. He added that he presented the intelligence reports even on the ministers of the then Government to the relevant authorities.
