Rishad, a no show at CID

Former Minister Rishard Badiudeen who was summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department to record a statement over the Easter Sunday attacks had not turned up at the CID citing health reasons.

Badiudeen had informed police that he is unable to arrive at the CID as he has been asked to rest for three days by doctors.

Police spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne said the former Minister has admitted himself to the Pesalai district hospital after developing an ailment yesterday morning.

SSP Senaratne said the former Minister had discharged from the hospital after a few hours.

The Police spokesman said that the CID officials investigating into the Easter Sunday attacks will record a statement from Badiudeen.

Addressing a press conference in Anuradhapura, Senaratne also said investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks are in the final stage.
