IP W.K. Saman Wasantha Kumara attached to the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB), who was wanted by the CID over his alleged involvement in drug trafficking had surrendered to the Kadawatha Police yesterday, Police Media Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne said.
The suspect was arrested by the Kadawatha Police and handed over to the CID where he is being detained for questioning under the Prevention of Terrorism temporary provisions.
The Police earlier released a picture of the suspect Police officer seeking public assistance to trace the suspect and arrest him over his alleged connection to drug trafficking offenses. SSP Senaratne said that the CID is currently investigating the alleged involvement of several Police officers found to have links with drug dealers.
