Electricity Bills: Committee Report to Minister

The final report of the four-member Committee appointed to make recommendations on providing relief to consumers who faced irregularities in their electricity bills during the Coronavirus pandemic was handed over to Passenger Transport Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera yesterday.

A number of recommendations to provide relief to the electricity consumers with high electricity bills from March to May, have been proposed by the Committee. The report will be submitted to the Cabinet of Minister today for approval by Minister Amaraweera. The next course of the action will be taken on the basis of the Cabinet decision.

Committee Chairman Additional Secretary to the Ministry Hemantha Samarakoon handed over the final report to Minister Amaraweera yesterday.
