United National Party digital election campaign launched

UPDATE: The United National Party (UNP) launched its campaign for the upcoming general election via digital platforms at Sirikotha yesterday.

The Sirikotha meeting was attended by 100 people. Simultaneous meetings were held in every electorate with the participation of 100 people following the health guidelines. The UNP will use social media platforms such as Zoom, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube for its election campaign.

Party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said at the event that the UNP will engage in a policy-based campaign while highlighting its programme of work instead of criticising its opponents.

Wickremesinghe said that his party does not have any hidden deals with other political parties.

He said the UNP campaign will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines set by health authorities to ensure safety of the people.

The United National Party (UNP) will launch its campaign via digital platforms at Siri Kotha today (June 28) from 4 pm. The party will adopt a new and progressive approach to communicate with the public. A meeting will be held in all electorates today (June 28) with the participation of 100 people in keeping with health guidelines.For the first time in Sri Lanka’s political history, every electorate will be connected via technology. Party supporters will be given an opportunity to participate in the launch while ensuring the safety of people. The public can join this digital journey by logging on to the UNP’s Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages today (June 28) at 4pm.
