Behave responsibly in non-curfew period – Bishop of Jaffna

The Catholic Bishop of Jaffna Rt Rev. Dr.Justin Gnanapragasam has appealed to the people in Jaffna and the Northern Province to observe the non-curfew period cautiously to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

He advised the people to be careful about their movements during the non-curfew period to prevent the further spread of the virus.

"The people should be careful once the curfew is lifted and should avoid gathering at public places, if not the chances of the virus spreading will be high. Many had gathered In front of the wine shops risking the lives of others".

At a recent held Press Conference, he said people should behave responsibly at times like these and be cautious of their movements.

"At times like these people should stay at home and restrict their movements, unless it is essential. Around 17 people have been detected with the virus from which four people recovered successfully and these people were from Ariyalai, Jaffna".

He urged the people in Jaffna and Northern Province, to be careful and maintain good health and to avoid any social gatherings for the safety of everyone.
