The Committee on Parliamentary Business has agreed to debate the Central Bank Treasury Bonds Forensic Audit Report on February18 and 19.
A Parliament release said Opposition MPs requested that two days be allocated for the debate on the Forensic Audit Report regarding the issuance of Treasury Bonds by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL)
during the first sitting week of Parliament in February as it was raised by MPs.
It was discussed that the Sinhalese and Tamil translations of the Forensic Audit Report regarding the issuance of Treasury Bonds by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) are required to be tabled in Parliament before the debate. MPs have argued that the English copy of the Forensic Audit would be sufficient for the debate.
The Speaker stated that it would be practically difficult to provide translations of the said Forensic Audit Report as it consists of thousands of pages and it takes much time for this purpose.
It was also requested that a hard copy of the Forensic Audit which was tabled in English on Tuesday, be made available to MPs before February 5, 2020 since the CD containing the Report does not permit for printing.
