Army probe into soldiers’ conduct in Jaffna murder

The army will investigate the case of the murdered medical student of Jaffna university by a soldier, media spokesperson Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe stated yesterday (23).

“The police are currently investigating the incident. The deceased and the suspect, said to be wife and husband are from Beruwela. According to documents the suspect soldier had been married to the deceased since 2016”.

The victim a fourth-year medical student has had a dispute with her husband soldier, and investigations will be carried out in the coming days.

On Wednesday (22) the soldier was arrested after attempting to flee the murder scene at the Pannai beach.He was arrested by the police for the murder.
