A suspect has been nabbed with 19 conches by Batticaloa police at the Kallady bridge Police checkpoint along the Batticaloa-Kalmunai highway on Saturday (18).
The conches have been transported from Negombo for sale in Batticaloa. The suspect was produced before the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court.
SSP M.N.S. Mendis, SP Kumarasiri and HQI K.P. Hetiyarachi and Inspector Bandara nabbed the suspect.
Investigations are continuing.
