Fisherman drowns in seas off Seruwila

A fisherman had drowned when the boat he was on capsized in the Lanka Patuna seas on December 24. He had gone on fishing along with three other fishermen from Lanka Patuna on the day, Seruwila police said. The other fishermen had escaped swimming to the beach. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Vahab Mohammed Kanish (42), a resident of Kinniya.

A brother of the deceased has lodged a complaint in the Kinniya Police in this regard and accordingly, investigations are going on by Seruwila police.

The victim’s body has not been found yet.
