Japanese FM here for bilateral talks

Japan’s Foreign Affairs Minister Toshimitsu Motegi will visit Sri Lanka today. He will be here till December 14 to further strengthen bilateral ties between Japan and Sri Lanka and with the new government, a statement from the Japanese Embassy in Colombo said.

Foreign Minister Motegi will have a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and pay courtesy calls on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa on December 13.

Foreign Minister Motegi will discuss furthering the bilateral relations, including cooperation towards realising a ‘Free and Open Indo- Pacific’.
