Prevailing rainy condition to enhance

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island, said the Department of Meteorology.

Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance to some extent over most parts of the island during next few days from today.

Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western Southern and Uva provinces and in Mannar district. Fairly heavy falls about 75mm can be expected at some places elsewhere.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Southern provinces during the morning.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
