If not SLPP, there are other parties to ally with, like JVP - Dayasiri

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has been built on vituperative politics. This is evident from the behaviour of grassroots membership right up to the party's top echelons, SLFP General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara says. Speaking to the media after an awareness programme for SLFP activists held at the Pearl Palace hotel, Matara, on September 17, Jayasekara said the SLFP was endeavouring to save the country from political decay and develop it.

It was a programme that should be achieved with the unity of all strata of SLFP membership. They were conducting a campaign to unite all. The SLFP could not be dismembered any further. The SLFP had identified its past mistakes and was striving to correct them, he said.
