THe Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the SLPP have not reached an agreement yet.

Former President and Kurunegala District MP Mahinda Rajapaksa said the government has no right or mandate to change the Constitution at this stage.

“That can only be done by the next government that comes to power. We do not want to talk about the anarchical political situation in the country today. All communities have fear for their lives and safety. Today one cannot go to temple, church, mosque and kovil freely. People are living in fear and suspicion,” he said.
