Detonators found in Pettah

The Police had recovered explosive detonators abandoned at the private bus stand in Bastian Mawatha in Pettah yesterday, said the Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara.

Twelve detonators were found on the ground near the private bus stand on Bastian Road around 1.00 pm. Upon investigation, the Police recovered another 75 detonators at a garbage dump. The STF had conducted the operation to recover the detonators and it was taken into the custody of the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) officers.

Accordingly, 87 low explosive detonators were found from the Bastian Mawatha area yesterday.
